This class also reinforces the development of critical thinking, emotional regulation, life skills, autonomy building as well as creating opportunities for the students to be active participants in school life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Please Note: students will NOT graduate with a high school leaving certificate in the academic stream; the decision for placement will change their path for learning. Students in Diversified Path usually move on to the Work Oriented Training Path (WOTP) at age 15. This program is offered at LSA (Year 3).&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n<\/div>\n\n                    \n\n\n<div class=\"block-accordion  theme-block theme-block--innerblock aligndefault\">\n    <span class=\"theme-block__label\">Accordion<\/span>\n    <h3 class=\"block-accordion__title\">Work-Oriented Training Path<\/h3>\n    \n\n<p>The Work-Oriented Training Path (WOTP) Program is an alternative to the traditional, academic General Education Pathway. Students who enroll in WOTP often find that the smaller class size and personal focus offers them the opportunity to achieve success and enjoy learning in ways that previously did not seem possible for them. This path is offered in work study and may lead directly to the job market; under some conditions, it may also lead to vocational training programs or continued studies in general education.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The WOTP consists of two distinct learning programs: Prework Training and Training for a Semiskilled Trade.<\/p>\n\n\n<\/div>\n\n                    \n\n\n<div class=\"block-accordion  theme-block theme-block--innerblock aligndefault\">\n    <span class=\"theme-block__label\">Accordion<\/span>\n    <h3 class=\"block-accordion__title\">Prework Training (PWT)<\/h3>\n    \n\n<p>Prework Training (PWT) is a three-year program, which provides a supportive transition into work and community life. Students follow a modified curriculum according to their IEP, in addition to an intensive employability component. Students who successfully complete the work placement requirements of the PWT program receive an official Prework Training Certificate (PWTC) from the Minist\u00e8re de l&#8217;\u00c9ducation du Qu\u00e9bec, which attests to their overall employability skills. In the final year of the PWT program, if students meet the criteria, they may transition into the Training for a Semiskilled Trade program.<\/p>\n\n\n<\/div>\n\n                    \n\n\n<div class=\"block-accordion  theme-block theme-block--innerblock aligndefault\">\n    <span class=\"theme-block__label\">Accordion<\/span>\n    <h3 class=\"block-accordion__title\">Training for a Semiskilled Trade (TST)<\/h3>\n    \n\n<p>Training for a Semiskilled Trade (TST) is a one-year program. TST program offers students the opportunity to focus their academic efforts on the three core academic subjects: English Language Arts, Mathematics and French Second Language, while at the same time training for a specific Semiskilled Trade.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The work placement component of the program is compulsory. The experience students gain in the work force is an important part of the learning process and helps reinforce academic skills in a real-world context.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Students who successfully complete the TST program will receive an official Training Certificate for a Semiskilled Trade (TCST) granted by the Minist\u00e8re de l&#8217;\u00c9ducation du Qu\u00e9bec. The TCST indicates the specific Semiskilled Trade in which the student received training.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Students may continue their academic education in the adult education sectors. If students meet certain conditions, they may also transition into specific, designated vocational training \/ trades programs.<\/p>\n\n\n<\/div>\n\n                    \n\n\n<div class=\"block-accordion  theme-block theme-block--innerblock aligndefault\">\n    <span class=\"theme-block__label\">Accordion<\/span>\n    <h3 class=\"block-accordion__title\">Challenges<\/h3>\n    \n\n<p>The Challenges program is an adapted curriculum aimed at fostering the social integration of students aged 16 to 21 with moderate to severe intellectual impairments.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The curriculum focuses on the core subjects (English, Math, Social Studies and French) as well as social integration and preparing for the job market. Students will complete work placements in year 3, 4 and 5, and will receive a Challenges Attestation upon completion of the program. These students are active participants in school life. Placement in the Challenges Program is determined by the School Board.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"block-accordions-group theme-block theme-block--innerblock aligndefault\">\n    <span class=\"theme-block__label\">Accordions<\/span>\n  \n    \n<div class=\"block-accordion  theme-block theme-block--innerblock aligndefault\">\n    <span class=\"theme-block__label\">Accordion<\/span>\n    <h3 class=\"block-accordion__title\">General Information<\/h3>\n    \n\n<p>Sports-\u00c9tudes is intended to support student-athletes who are recognized by their sports federation for their athletic performance and for their successful academic and sports interests, provided that they make academic success their priority.<\/p>\n\n\n<\/div>\n\n                    \n\n\n<div class=\"block-accordion  theme-block theme-block--innerblock aligndefault\">\n    <span class=\"theme-block__label\">Accordion<\/span>\n    <h3 class=\"block-accordion__title\">Objectives<\/h3>\n    \n\n<ul>\n<li>To provide a balance between the academic and athletic development of the student athlete.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>To develop the student athlete as a whole person by fostering the following:<ul><li>Strong social skills<\/li><\/ul><ul><li>Strong organizational skills<\/li><\/ul><ul><li>Effective community skills<\/li><\/ul><ul><li>Cooperative teams skills<\/li><\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Perseverance and the pursuit of excellence<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n<\/div>\n\n                    \n\n\n<\/div>\n\n\n<\/div>\n\n                    \n\n\n<div class=\"block-accordion  theme-block theme-block--innerblock aligndefault\">\n    <span class=\"theme-block__label\">Accordion<\/span>\n    <h3 class=\"block-accordion__title\">Academic Requirements<\/h3>\n    \n\n<ul>\n<li>A student must meet the requirements for a Secondary School Diploma in 75% of the designated time, leaving the remaining 25% of time to pursue academic endeavour.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The student-athletes are subject to the same evaluation process as all other students (i.e. MEQ Provincial Examinations, School Board Examinations, etc.)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n<\/div>\n\n                    \n\n\n<div class=\"block-accordion  theme-block theme-block--innerblock aligndefault\">\n    <span class=\"theme-block__label\">Accordion<\/span>\n    <h3 class=\"block-accordion__title\">Support Services<\/h3>\n    \n\n<p>The Sports-\u00c9tudes program also provides for support services including:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>Weight training<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Physiotherapy consultations<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Nutrition and sports medicine sessions<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Guest speakers<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n<\/div>\n\n                    \n\n\n<div class=\"block-accordion  theme-block theme-block--innerblock aligndefault\">\n    <span
